Ringtones and applications are one of the many ways to make your cell phone unique and personal. With so many providers out there it gets hard to find just the right one to suit your needs.  Making your cell phone your own is very important to a lot of us, simply because it can be a direct reflection of our personalities. It is easy  to read someone's personality just by being able to browse through their phone for a couple of minutes. You are able to get a pretty good feel for their likes and dislikes just from hearing a certain ringtone or seeing something as simple as the wallpaper they have downloaded. If someone's ringtone is blaring death metal it is almost a 100% safe to assume that he or she wont  have a collection of Celine Dion at home. Or, if someone's wallpaper consists of two cute puppies playing in a flower garden, it is probably safe to say they wont have a collection of death metal at home. You obviously get the idea.

We have all been in a position where a persons phone rings in a restaurant or movie theatre, and it plays a tune that nobody could ever believe the owner would have downloaded let alone set as the ringtone. Laughter ensues and the jokes begin. Deep down inside that person really enjoys that song -though they would never admit it- and it makes you take a second look into the personality they posses. This is why I believe cell phones and the technology that comes along with them have become so special.

The various forms of communication that human beings can choose to interact with one another have become astounding. I remember not too long ago when telephone and paper mail were the only ways of communicating with one another. We now have the option of Internet, Email, fax , text messaging, instant messaging, the list goes on. However the best choices usually always come down to the ones that are most personable. The ones that actually allow you to hear a voice and have real time interactions with another human being.  If a person chooses to have a mobile phone it obviously means they do not want to be cut off from the outside world. That in itself tells something about them. The fact that we can go a step further and make them our own tells us a little bit more. This is why I believe the cell phone can be a mild reflection of our personalities. They are not only a form of networking able to keep people in touch on the outside, but they might just aid in doing it on the inside as well.
